Elegant Anson I Images Added

Since its first post-restoration flight on 18 July 2012, Bill and Robyn Reid's beautifully restored Anson I has been seen at numerous events on the New Zealand airshow circuit. Having photographed it many times, I have added some new photos of the aeroplane in its element to the site. On the Anson Gallery page can be seen a number of pictures taken over time of this aircraft, originally built as Anson I MH120 and supplied to the Royal Australian Air Force, including a couple of the machine as it was at Air World, Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia, when Bill bought it, in its Colonel Roscoe Turner's Boeing 247 scheme applied for a television movie about the 1934 MacRobertson Air Race. These are followed by images of it during its lengthy and meticulous restoration at Bill's home in Wakefield, near Nelson, New Zealand. There are a couple of the aeroplane on the day of its first post restoration flight at Nelson Airport, followed by some of it at various airshow appearances around the country, including Ardmore, Omaka and against the spectacular scenery at Wanaka, during the Warbirds Over Wanaka airshow in 2016. In the most recent image, it is seen in its display revetment within the recently opened The Dangerous Skies exhibition at the Aviation Heritage Centre at Omaka; I am certain, however, it won't be the last I place on this site. Be sure to also go to the Anson I Walkaround page for a closer look at the aeroplane. Click on the image below to go to the Anson Gallery.
