Westland Wessex and LVG C VI added - a month ago!

Been busy recently, hence the delay in getting these on this page. The most recent additions to the site are the Westland Wessex, with walkarounds of two Royal Australian Navy examples, as well as a walkaround and gallery of images and the LVG C VI German reconnaissance machine. The RAN operated a total of 27 of the big British built helo, of which two are represented here, HAS.31Bs N7-216, on display at the Australian Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour, Sydney and N7-226 on display at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at HMAS Albatross, Nowra, NSW, Australia. The Gallery features images of Uruguayan examples and assorted other Wessexes photographed in my travels. Click on the image below to go to the Wessex pages.

Also recently added is the Luft-Verkehrs Gesellschaft (LVG) C VI reconnaissance aircraft, of which a sterling reproduction photographed at the Vintage Aviator's hangar at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton, New Zealand is featured in the walkaround section and images of the RAF Museum's (formerly belonging to the RAF Air Historic Branch) airworthy example whilst operated by the Shuttleworth Collection, to whom it was on loan for many years in the gallery. Amid some controversy, the aeroplane, at that time the only original German two-seat Great War aeroplane still flying, in 2003 the loan agreement between the RAF Museum and Shuttleworth was not renewed and it was grounded. It is currently undergoing long term conservation at the Michael Beetham Conservation and Restoration Centre at RAF Cosford, Shropshire, UK. Click on the image to go to the LVG page.
